Even a princess has to nap

So last weekend I played in a tennis tournament for the first time since I was about 12! My friend Martha agreed to play with me in the 3.0 draw. We were pretty fierce, even though we lost twice in a tiebreaker! I think after a few more matches you might better watch out! Thanks Martha for introducing me to tournament play! So Ella stayed up pretty late both nights watching the matches, then she and Gabriella went to their first bar- Chili's! We celebrated our loss, and Shannon spraining her ankle with margaritas! Poor Shannon, they were winning when she twisted it! Get better soon! I think we got home at midnight---late. Gosh we are getting old! Needless to say Ella was exausted the next day!

New Aunt

My mom and dad have been looking for a dog for quite some time now. Our old dog Boo died last summer at the age of 15! She was the best dog and is going to be hard to live up to! They decided to get a Morkie today. She is super cute! A little shy right now, but I know she is going to be so much fun for Bella. Yes, in case some of you are unaware, my dog is Bella and my child Ella. A little confsing you may think, but I guess we will see! I left Bella at home today when we meet this little puppy, didn't want to terrorize her yet! She hasn't been named yet, but I will update you later.

After playing with the puppy for a while, this is what I found:

i heart the olympics

Olympic Medal winners at NBC Olympics.com!

From Wubba Nub to thumb

In the beginning, ella loved her Wubba Nub! She could hold on to it and I could use the ducky to prop up on her so it held in her mouth....Then I found that this is what she liked-

What do you other mom's think about thumb sucking? She usually starts out with a "papoo" but turns to this in her sleep! Is there anything sweeter than a sleeping baby?

Family

Last month we traveled down to Altheimer for Felix's 4th birthday party. It was a fishing party at Elm's Plantation which had a lake and a beautiful old house on the property. SB was a fab hostess and made cane poles for the kids to go fishin' Everyone had so much fun! Here is a pic of E, my parents, and my sisters' kiddos. Nana, Poppy, E, Hannah Day (two and a half), Felix Smart (four y/o), and Peyton Smart (8 mo).

Photo Attempt

So a couple of weeks ago we tried out some photos for Ella's birth announcement. She had missed her nap so wasn't as smiley as I had hoped, but these are some of my favs. She holds her head up so good, we are such proud parents! While I know babies are usually born with blue eyes, and they change to their color by about six months, I swear E was born with brown eyes! Scott like to call them green, I call him crazy!

First Lake Trip

We went to the lake this past weekend with the Deuschle's and a few other couples. I was nervous about how she would sleep in her pack 'n' play, but I guess after a few hours at Party Cove.....j/k we went to FAMILY cove, but told her some stories about the crazy things that go on at the other place. We also told her about Arc Isle and how happy I am that she will never go...Caroline Deuschle loved E and wanted to play with her all the time. She thought she took too many naps. Caroline and E both look just like thier daddies! We stayed up late and caught up with some old friends and met a couple new ones too. It was so nice to get away for the weekend! We had so much fun. Thanks Deuschle's for having us and being such great hosts!

Nanny Diaries

So I dropped E off with her new nannies. It was her first time spent with non family members. I had a million errands to run and a tennis match at noon. When I left she gave me the biggest smile, made leaving her much easier. She was there for a total of five hours and did an excellent job. She was held the entire time so I'm glad she woke up to eat, I wasn't sure. She was there with one other girl and the fattest cat I've ever seen, named Misty! Hope she doesn't share Scott's allergy to the critters. I took these pics before we left the house, sort of like first day of school...don't call the safety police Aunt SB, I know she isn't buckled in yet.

Pool Day

Last week we took Ella to my parents house to swim! She was very indifferent about the process. She hated the sunscreen application, but I think she kindof enjoyed the water!!

Our playgroup

So I have made some new mommy friends here in the Rock. I wanted to share some photos of our playdates. While the babies sleep us moms get some much needed adult chat, just like the tostitos commercial! Here is Ella and Gabriella playing in an Activity gym. The group pic above is Savannah Johnson, Sutton Simmons, Ella, and Gabriella Taylor. Ford Gill is on his first vaca to Michigan, we missed him for the past six weeks. I think Sutton is sick of being around only girls and ready for his return. I mean he did grab Ella's leg this day and all but... im sure he would appreciate a little more testosterone around!!

Our first post...

Hello everyone!! I hope this can keep everyone updated on our life with baby Ella! I have been so delinquent in emailing pics out, so i think this will be easier. We are having such a fun summer so far!
Let me tell a little background....Ella was welcomed into this world on May 1, 2008. She was delivered via c-section at 11:53 am weighing 6lb 3oz and 18 inches long. Our life "changed forever" just as everyone told us it would. Ella has been such a good baby, and very portable to boot. She loves to watch her mommy play tennis and go to the pool. We even spent six hours at the mall a few weeks ago (she loved every minute of it...i could tell). I have been so blessed thus far and can only imagine the fun things to come.
Ella is now 3 months 1 week and she:
smiles and laughs
loves her mobile and activity gym
hates her afternoon naps
sleeps from 9pm-8am
like to watch people whistle
loves to have her diaper off and KICK
loves anything with blinking lights
takes about 6oz every three hours

So as you can see from the image above, ella has her phone and purse...she is ready to go!! Let's Blog!!
